Penn State Offers Pitt Recruit Chad Voytik

Penn State has handed down a scholarship offer to Pitt quarterback recruit Chad Voytik according to Scout.com's Bob Lichtenfels.

Voytik, a Cleveland, Tenn. native, committed to former Pitt coach Todd Graham back in July and has remained a Panthers pledge through the transition to new head coach Paul Chryst, and Lichtenfels reports that the No. 4 rated quarterback according to Rivals.com and U.S. Army All-American remains committed to Pitt, even in light of the Penn State offer.

It'll be interesting to see if that stance changes in the coming weeks, though, as new Penn State coach Bill O'Brien brings years of experience coaching quarterbacks, including future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, with him to Happy Valley from the New England Patriots.

We don't typically track offers here at SB Nation Pittsburgh, but the tug-of-war between Pitt and Penn State for this top recruit will be interesting to watch, as both Chryst and O'Brien both attempt to establish themselves in their new roles just 130 miles apart.
