New 2012 NFL Mock Draft Sends Devon Still To Seahawks, Dont'a Hightower To Steelers

A recent NFL mock draft at the Miami Dolphins blog the Phinsider has a top five of Andrew Luck, Matt Kalil, Justin Blackmon, Trent Richardson and Morris Claiborne, with Robert Griffin III falling to the Washington Redskins at No. 6. Devon Still heads to the Seattle Seahawks at No. 12.

For better or worse, Pete Carroll does like Tarvaris Jackson and I don't think Ryan Tannehill is on their radar this high in the draft. Seattle desperately needs help on the DL to help rush the QB. They'd be ecstatic if [Quinton] Coples fell this far. I just don't expect that to happen.

After that, the Steelers take Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower.

Dontari Poe could be another option if they look for a future NT, but the Steelers also need to inject some youth at ILB. Hightower has been a great leader on the Alabama defense and is another one of the great Alabama LBs.

A lot of mock drafts recently have connected Hightower and Poe to the Steelers, because they currently represent the best matches of need and opportunity (although it's obviously far from guaranteed that's how the Steelers will see it). The Steelers also need help -- actually, a lot of help -- at guard, but right now it doesn't look like they'll have a shot at Stanford's David DeCastro, and maybe not at Georgia's Cordy Glenn, either.
