PSR's DeFazio to take temporary reigns of Ellis Cannon Academy of Sports Media and Broadcasting at PA Cyber

PSR Editor filling in until Cannon's return

Pittsburgh Sports Report editor Tony DeFazio will fill in for Ellis Cannon this semester, teaching Cannon's sports media and broadcasting course at the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School.

The program, which provides high school students across Pennsylvania an early start on a career in sports media, is a two-semester program launched by Cannon in 2010.

Cannon's unique program is believed the only one of its type in the nation.

DeFazio, a veteran of the Pittsburgh sports media scene for nearly nine years, will guide the class until Cannon returns.

The class, Sports Media and Broadcasting I, offers an introduction into print, radio, television and online sports journalism, from history to current applications.

DeFazio is assisted by PA Cyber instructional supervisor and local sports personality Marc Grandinetti.
