NFL Mock Draft 2012: Yet Another Mock Draft Has Steelers Drafting Offensive Line Help

This is the time of year when literally hundreds of NFL 2012 Mock Drafts are floating around the internet, but it seems they all agree on virtually one thing: the Pittsburgh Steelers need to protect Ben Roethlisberger and thus should draft an offensive lineman of some variety. The website NFLmocks.com agrees, suggesting Pittsburgh take guard Cordy Glenn from Georgia:

With Max Starks solidifying left tackle the only offensive hole is the right guard spot.

Georgia offensive lineman Cordy Glenn plays left tackle at Georgia. The 6 foot 5 348 pound offensive lineman lacks the footwork to play tackle at this point. Even if Glenn kicks inside to guard Pittsburgh will like Glenn as an offensive line prospect because Cordy Glenn has the size that the Steelers look for in an offensive lineman.

The Steelers are locked into the No. 24 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and even at that position should have their choice of quality offensive linemen available. Pittsburgh currently has sufficient talent at tackle with Marcus Gilbert and Willie Colon, but they are bereft of productive offensive guards and a choice such as Cordy Glenn would make sense for the team.
