Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Football Week 3: Fan Preview - Yahoo! Sports

Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.

Ben Roethlisberger, QB

Roethlisberger finished the week scoring 19.00 fantasy points against the New York Jets. This week he faces an Oakland Raiders' defense that gave up 19.40 fantasy points to Miami Dolphins' rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill last week. Big Ben has looked solid this season and it should continue this week against the winless Raiders. Look for at least 16.00 fantasy points this week.

Rashard Mendenhall, RB

Mendenhall has returned to practice but did not dress against the New York Jets this week. Do not expect regular contributions until at least Week 5 when the Steelers take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mike Wallace, WR

Wallace finished the week earning 13.40 fantasy points against the Jets. This week he faces an Oakland defense that allowed just 4.30 fantasy points to Miami wide receivers last week. Wallace should continue to haul in fantasy points as the weeks go on and he finds his groove after his preseason holdout. Look for another strong showing this week as he earns at least 9.00 fantasy points.

Antonio Brown, WR

Brown finished the week earning 8.80 fantasy points against New York. This week he shares the same favorable matchup with Wallace against the Raiders. With Mendenhall out, the Steelers offense will likely continue to focus on the air attack so expect another 9.00 fantasy point week this week.

Heath Miller, TE

Miller continued to impress earning 7.90 fantasy points last week against the Jets. This week he faces an Oakland defense that allowed 7.90 fantasy points to Miami's Anthony Fasano. If Roethlisberger continues to spread the ball around this week against the Raiders, expect Miller to have at least a 6.00 fantasy point game.

Defense

Pittsburgh finished the week earning 8.00 fantasy points against the Jets. This week they face a Jets' team that has allowed an average of 7.00 fantasy points to team defense this season. Look for Pittsburgh to have a repeat performance of 8.00 fantasy points this week against the Raiders.
